Welcome to Succubus High Vol. 2 cranks up the heat, the hijinks, and the hormones in all the wonderfully absurd ways you’d expect from a series that throws a normal human boy into a school full of succubi. If Volume 1 laid the foundation with awkward encounters and over-the-top innuendo, Volume 2 dives straight into the deep end—only now, there’s more story simmering underneath the sexy surface.
Our poor protagonist, still the only human in a school designed for supernatural beings who feed on desire, continues his daily struggle of not being seduced to death. It’s a hilarious premise, but what makes this volume stand out is how it starts to explore the characters beyond the gags. We see more of the supporting cast’s quirks, motivations, and even a few tender moments that sneak up on you between the fanservice-heavy chaos.
There’s a surprising amount of world-building going on too. Succubus High isn’t just a gimmick setting—it’s a full ecosystem with rules, hierarchy, and politics. Volume 2 gives us glimpses into how the succubi view humans, how they regulate their desires, and how much pressure is on them to “perform” a certain identity. It’s not just funny—it’s subtly insightful. And while it never takes itself too seriously, there are real emotions swirling just beneath the comedic smirk.
That said, don’t worry—the comedy is still gloriously over the top. There’s physical humor, suggestive misunderstandings, and some absolutely unhinged classroom scenarios that feel like a fever dream in the best way. The manga walks that fine line between raunchy and ridiculous without crossing into anything mean-spirited. It knows what it is and embraces the chaos with confidence.
Volume 2 also starts to hint at a deeper connection forming between the protagonist and a certain succubus who might be catching real feelings. This adds a layer of emotional tension to all the seductive chaos and gives the story a bit of romantic weight. It’s not just about resisting temptation anymore—it’s about figuring out what it means to have genuine affection in a world where lust is currency.
I had a blast reading this. It’s spicy, ridiculous, and just self-aware enough to never take itself too seriously. But there’s also heart here—a sense that beneath all the nosebleeds and absurd situations, there’s a story about acceptance, boundaries, and building trust in the most unlikely of places.
Volume 2 absolutely lived up to my expectations. I laughed, I blushed, and I even found myself unexpectedly touched by a few moments of sincerity. I’m all in for Volume 3. If you’re looking for a series that mixes ridiculous ecchi antics with surprisingly clever character moments, Welcome to Succubus High continues to be delightfully entertaining.
What’s especially fun in this volume is how the school setting itself becomes more of a character. From bizarre gym class drills that are part seductive training, part near-death experience, to student clubs that operate more like cults of charm and allure, everything is turned up to eleven. The absurdity is fully embraced—and that’s exactly why it works. You never know what kind of “lesson” will be dished out next, and somehow the teachers are even more unhinged than the students. It’s chaotic energy, but it’s consistent and gleefully aware of its own madness.
And while it’s heavy on the ecchi humor, there’s a subtle commentary going on about consent, control, and personal agency—especially for the succubi characters. They’re expected to be seductive all the time, but this volume shows how exhausting and performative that can be. Seeing some of them start to push back against those expectations adds unexpected layers of depth. It’s still very much a comedy, but that hint of emotional resonance gives it just enough substance to keep the story engaging long after the laughs.
